All students will be participating in the winter session of MAP Testing during our winter testing window that runs from Tuesday, January 17th – Tuesday, January 31st. Students will be taking the Survey test and will do so in the computer labs during their English class. The Survey test is a short test (20 items) that will simply survey the domain of a subject area. This test will only report an overall RIT score at the end.
As you may recall, the MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) is a computerized test that is adapted for each student and helps measure growth over time. Students are tested in the areas of Reading and Mathematics. LCHS administration, faculty, and staff with use this test data to assist in making data driven decisions to improve student learning. Test data will also be used to help in the 2012-2013 registration process as well as give us some important “exit” data for our seniors. RIT scores from this survey test, as well as RIT score from Spring 2011 and Fall 2011 testing will be used to place your student in Basic, Standard, or Enriched levels in English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science classes. Please encourage your student to do their very best. For more information about the MAP test, go directly to the NWEA website at http://www.nea.org . - Posted by Jon Hill Comments are closed.
